Sentoo is a local online payment solution that enables you (commercial clients) to offer online payments and provide customers the option to checkout and pay online with Sentoo, all in the local currency. Sentoo payments are made through an online payment from the customer's bank account to your MCB bank account.

To make a payment, customers use their (MCB) Mobile Banking app or (MCB) Online Banking website. Sentoo offers real-time confirmation for you and your customers. Create a smooth customer experience so you can deliver goods and services right away.

What are the benefits of Sentoo?

The Sentoo payment solution offers secure and real-time payments in local currency, ensuring a convenient and hassle-free experience for your customers. With direct settlement of payments and automatic processing, there is no need for customers to manually enter payment details.

It also supports online payments, recurring billing, and provides additional payment links through checkout buttons and QR codes. The rates are transparent and affordable, making it an ideal choice for your business.

How does it work?

With Sentoo, the buyer has the flexibility to select their own bank at checkout. Sentoo redirects the buyer to their bank's mobile banking app or online banking portal, where the payment details are pre-filled automatically. The buyer simply needs to approve the payment using the normal approval process.

The payment is processed instantly, and the funds are transferred to the merchant. Sentoo also provides real-time confirmations to both the buyer and the merchant, enabling further processing of the purchase.

What are the requirements to apply for Sentoo?

Any business or organization that needs to collect payments can use Sentoo. Whether you are a small online webshop or a large corporate entity, Sentoo offers various ways to implement Sentoo Payments in your payment and invoicing flow.

As an MCB business client you already have an MCB business account and automatically qualify for Sentoo Payments. Simply go the the Sentoo website and chose to onboard as a Sentoo merchant.

How can I offer Sentoo to my customers as a payment method?

To start offering Sentoo to your clients as a payment method, you need a contract with Sentoo. Please contact Sentoo for more information.

Where can I ask about a specific Sentoo payment?

Sentoo offers a Merchant portal where you can log in and obtain the status of a specific payment. Here you can view the status of all your Sentoo payments.

How are Sentoo payments processed?

Sentoo payments are processed immediately on the banking network. After a successful transaction, you will be notified, and the funds will be immediately available in your account.

When will the Sentoo transactions be available on my business banking account?

For transfers between MCB accounts or local banks that participate in the Instant Payments (IP) platform, it takes less than 10 seconds* for the funds to be received. At that point, the funds are immediately available to the beneficiary.

When the receiving bank is not on the IP platform, the payment can take up to 2 days.

(*) In the first few months after the introduction of the Instant Payments (IP) platform, the transaction process time will be 10 minutes maximum. However, the aim is to bring the transaction time down to 10 seconds.

Is Sentoo safe?

Sentoo is based on internet banking and uses the same security techniques. This means that Sentoo is just as secure as internet banking. Besides that, Sentoo takes several precautionary measures:

Sentoo complies with the latest industry standards and quality requirements.
No personally identifiable data is stored, and sensitive database fields are encrypted.
Sentoo constantly updates and monitors the platform to maintain the expected security level.
The traffic is TLS-encrypted, and the network and APIs are regularly pen-tested.
Banks and third-party security auditors perform regular audits.

Do my customers need a credit card to pay using Sentoo?

No, your customers do not need a credit card. The payments are processed by local banks directly on their online banking systems, the only thing your customers need is a local bank account with online banking access.

Can I use Sentoo if I don't have a web shop or invoicing system?

Sentoo also offers the option to manually create payment links or QR-codes that you can share with your customers through for example an email or direct message.

I cannot submit or authorize Sentoo Payments. Is there a setting I should update?

Business Online Banking users with End User created before the launch of Sentoo in November 2023, need to follow the steps below to enable Sentoo Payments.

1. Open the Online Banking website and login with the Master User. From the Settings menu, select Transaction Management and select the first End User.

1a. For a Maker & Authorizer user, check the "Sentoo Payments" checkbox and enter a daily limit for Sentoo Payments and save the changes.

1b. For a Maker user, check the "Sentoo Payments" checkbox and save the changes.

1c. For an Authorizer user, enter a daily limit for Sentoo Payments and save the changes.

2. From the Settings menu, select User Management and edit the first End User by clicking the pencil icon next to the full name.

3. Under the “Business Multi-User” and under the “Business Multi-User for Apps” section, set a limit for Sentoo Payments and save the changes.

Enable these settings for all your End Users.
